SendMyLicense Terms of Service
Plain-language draft for the closed beta. An attorney reviews and finalizes this before public launch. Entity, jurisdiction, and effective date inserted at publication.
The short version
SendMyLicense is a tool for storing your credential documents, tracking dates you enter, and sending packages you assemble. You own your documents and are responsible for your professional obligations. We run the service carefully, honestly, and without surprises. If it's not for you, export your data and go — no hostages.
1. What SendMyLicense is — and is not
SendMyLicense provides document storage, organization, user-configured reminders, and package preparation and delivery, for your convenience.
SendMyLicense is not a compliance, credentialing, licensing, legal, or verification service. It does not verify credentials, interpret licensing or regulatory requirements, calculate continuing-education sufficiency, or confirm your eligibility to work. Status indicators reflect only dates you entered. You remain solely responsible for all licensing, renewal, credentialing, legal, tax, and professional obligations. Reminders are provided for convenience and are not guaranteed to be delivered or received; do not rely on them as your only system for tracking obligations.
2. Your account
You must be at least 18 and provide accurate account information. Keep your sign-in credentials secure; we strongly encourage enabling two-factor authentication. You're responsible for activity under your account. One person per account.
3. Your content
You own the documents and information you store. You give us only the limited permission needed to operate the service: storing your files, generating cover sheets and packages you request, and transmitting packages to recipients you designate. We claim no other rights, and we do not use your content for advertising or AI training.
You're responsible for having the right to store and send what you upload, and for choosing recipients carefully — once a recipient downloads a package, its handling is outside SendMyLicense's control.
4. Sending packages
When you send a package, SendMyLicense emails your chosen recipient a secure link that expires after seven days. We record the send in your delivery log. Email delivery depends on systems we don't control (the recipient's mail provider, spam filtering, typos in addresses); we'll show you honest status information, but we cannot guarantee receipt. The download option always remains available to you as an alternative.
5. Plans and billing
The Free plan includes up to three credentials. Pro is billed monthly or annually through Stripe; prices are shown at checkout. You can cancel any time from your billing settings, effective at the end of the paid period. If you cancel or downgrade, your stored content remains exportable; Free-plan limits apply to active features. During beta, we may offer Pro features at no charge; we'll give clear notice before any beta pricing changes.
6. Acceptable use
Don't use SendMyLicense to store or send unlawful content, malware, or other people's documents without authority; don't attempt to access other users' data or probe the service's security (responsible disclosure is welcome at [security@DOMAIN]); don't resell or misrepresent the service. Don't upload patient health records — SendMyLicense is for your own professional credentials.
7. Service changes and availability
We aim for reliable service but don't promise uninterrupted availability. We may improve or change features with notice for material changes. If we ever discontinue SendMyLicense, we'll give at least 60 days' notice and keep export available through that period.
8. Termination
You can delete your account at any time from settings, which permanently removes your content per the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practicable, and export honored except where legally barred.
9. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Without limiting Section 1: SendMyLicense makes no representation that use of the service satisfies any licensing, credentialing, employment, or regulatory requirement.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SendMyLicense's total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages — including lost professional opportunities, lapsed licenses or credentials, or missed renewal deadlines. (Attorney: confirm enforceability and required carve-outs by jurisdiction.)
11. Indemnity
You'll defend and hold us harmless from third-party claims arising from your content or your breach of these terms. (Attorney: scope appropriately for consumer context.)
12. Disputes
Governing law: [STATE — attorney to confirm; presumptively North Carolina]. [Arbitration/venue clause — attorney decision, including class-waiver enforceability.]
13. Changes to these terms
We'll email account holders before material changes take effect. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance; if you don't accept, export and delete before that date.
